  • GRE VS GMAT

    Hello,

I know the website says that both GRE and GMAT are accepted but I was wondering if one is preferred over the other? I took the GRE in 2009 and scored 640 in verbal and 780 in quant (90th and 91st percentile respectively) I was wondering if it would be worth it to take the GMAT or if this would suffice....I am a Chemical Engineer for one of the oil majors in the refining industries and have a 1st class honours masters degree from a leading UK university so I'm hoping that these show my quantitative skills... Please advise!

    Thanks

Adcom are interested in how well you did, not which exam you took.

As far as Wharton is concerned, retaking when you already have a good score is largely a waste of time.

However, not all business schools accept the GRE, so if you were thinking of also applying to a number of other schools, taking the GMAT may be worthwhile.
