  • Open Transcript Envelope?
    From: HBDXB  Nov 07, 2009 Posts 1

    Hi,

My undergraduate transcripts have come in a sealed envelope address to Wharton. Can I have your permission to open the envelope to scan the transcripts? I need it to upload the transcripts into your application system.

I will retain the original transcripts with me and can later (if required) submit them to Wharton.

    Thanks.

The envelope is irrelevant - adcom are interested in the CONTENT of the transcripts, not the envelope.

    HBDXB,

Just to clarify, yes, you may open up the envelope to scan the transcripts and upload them. Many transcripts will have some sort of tamper-evident mechanism on them to indicate if manipulation has occurred, so I would not worry so much about keeping the transcripts sealed in the envelope.

I suppose that, in a worst case scenario, you could request new copies?
