    Hi,

I know that Wharton interviews are blind, and the interviewer will only have a copy of the applicant's resume. However, will the interviewer know if the person he/she is interviewing is a reapplicant? I am wondering if this can (and should) be a point of discussion during interviews.

Also, I have noticed on some blogs etc that 'hub' interviews in the past have been conducted by alumni. Is this possible? Or are hub interviews conducted solely by an adcom member?

    Thanks!

    Ela

No, the interviewer will not know your reapplication status, and unless asked a direct question, you are under no obligation to disclose it.

But I would have thought (depending on how you approach things) that potentially discussing how you have grown and developed since last time may actually lead to a stronger and clearer explanation of how a Wharton MBA will help you achieve your career goals, and what you may contribute to the Wharton experience.

Yes, in hub cities where adcom are anticipating strong demand for interviews slots, alumni and adcom may conduct hub interviews (this is not usual, but it does happen). All interviews are weighted equally, and the person conducting the post-interview review of your application will not be the person who interviewed you.

In my case the only interviewer available to me was the one who interviewed me in the previous year. This could be good or bad depending on you. Personally, I felt bad about that but after a while I just said to myself that there was nothing I could do (given the circumstances then) to change him. I was very nervous but it turned out to be a good opportunity for me to show how I had progressed since the last time I applied, why "NOW" (that time) was a better time than last year to pursue the MBA and why I was a better candidate than before.
