Is there an advantage to applying earlier in round 2 vs. near the deadline? When does the ad com begin looking at R2 apps?

While the back office team may check applications for completeness as they are received, adcom won't actually start reviewing applications until after the deadline. (other schools may have different policies)

While submitting a day or two before the deadline is probably prudent to avoid the stress any last minute glitches (eg. power outages, server traffic, hard disk crashes, credit card issues), there is no advantage to your chances in applying earlier within any round. There is however one significant disadvantage - the possibility that you might come up with a better way of expressing things between when you submit the application and the deadline.

Over 50% of applicants submit within 24 hours of the deadline.

    Hello,

Then is there any avdantage to apply in round 1 rather than round 2?

What percentage Wharton school gives admissions to each round:50/50 or it depends?

Thank you for your respond in advance.

Wharton aims to balance the quality in R1 and R2, so that an application of given quality stands an even chance in either round. Wharton makes extensive use of the waitlist in R1 to achieve this.

There are good and bad applications in every round, but historically, the quality of applications in R1 is higher ON AVERAGE than R2, and the number of admits reflects this.

Bottom line: your chances are best when you submit a well-prepared application. 'Rushing' your application to meet the R1 deadline will reduce your chances considerably.
