    Sadhir,

This is a bit too broad of an inquiry for us to be able to determine who - if anyone - would best be able to help you. Would you provide some more insight/specificity on the general subject matter without overstepping your privacy boundaries?

    Hi Victor,

If you can please share your email id with me, I shall shoot my query to you and you may forward my query to the appropriate person. I think I will be a reapplicant to wharton and at the same time I need some career guidance from you. The problems that I face are:

    1. Lack of opportunities (in my profession) in my country that curtails my learning/growth. I am not very confident of making any significant changes in my application for next year admissions.

    2. Whether to join any company at this stage when I already know that I will be applying to Wharton again in October 2011 for fall 2012 admissions.  As you understand that it can harm the organization when a person shows the intent of leaving the organization when he/she applies to bschools.

Basically, my case is a bit tricky and I am not too sure whether any other international candidate would have faced such a problem. Moreover, as I said, I would prefer to keep my case confidential.

    Thanks,

    Sandhir

    Hi, Sandhir,

You may email me at viclee[at]wharton.upenn.edu.

In response to your points, above:

    1) Reapplications need not be submitted the year following a denial of admission. You can still take one year off and reapply two years later if you feel that will give you more of a chance to show significant change and growth.

Also, consider exploring other options beyond your profession that may allow you to evidence development. Perhaps it may even be worth considering (depending a LOT on what your personal circumstances are) an alternative professional option that might better make use of your abilities and talents?

    2) This is completely up to you. It depends on what makes the most sense for your CAREER. It also depends on what you hope to get out of joining another company at this stage. Will it be substantive enough of a difference? Are you sure that is the area or only area in which you can benefit from a change (or that said change is even necessary)?
