    SAKET13,

Wharton does not have a 2+2 program. You may apply in your last semester of your college degree program or anytime thereafter. Note that you will generally be expected to matriculate during the fall of your application year.

I am also a 3rd year student doing mechanical engineerin from India and want to pursue MBA directly after completion of my college. So i want to know what chances does a fresher having no work experience have of getting admission in Wharton? Also, if industrial training (internship) counts as work experience or not?

    Apoorva,

Work experience is not a requirement. However, for most applicants, having some work experience better positions them to be competitive in the application process. This advantage can manifest itself in the form of more compelling, detailed, and salient recommendations, greater insight in the essays, etc.

Frankly speaking, one wold need to be fairly distinctive and exceptional in order to get accepted as a fresher with no work experience. It is possible, but definitely not the norm.

Internships could count as work experience. You will have to exercise your best judgment as to how to classify the internship (full-time or part-time; professional work or volunteerism). If you have doubts as to whether or not an internship should be mentioned, do not bother bringing it up. An internship just moving papers around and acting as a courier in an office might not be worth mentioning for someone with more substantive full-time experience. It might be salient for others with less experience, but should be considered carefully. The governing question should be: does mentioning the internship improve the strength of the overall application?

    Hi,

I am a prospective student from India wishing to join MBA program at Wharton. I have following queries --

    1) I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Commerce from India i.e. 10 + 2 years of junior college + 3 years of graduation. Do I require to take masters degree ( additional 2 years after graduation) as well to qualify?

    2) I am qualified Chartered Accountant from India which is equivalent of CPA in US. The qualification requires a 4 year internship in Auditing, Taxation, etc. which I have completed. Do I require more work experience ?

    3) When should I apply?

    Regards,

    Ankita Gokhale
